Hello, I’m Emma, the photographer and heart behind Candid Camellia Photography.
Photography has never been just a career for me, it’s legacy.
Candid Camellia grew from a love of preserving the moments that become heirlooms based on quiet glances, joyful tears, and the everyday connections that grow more meaningful with time.
The name Camellia was given to me by my Grandmother as a child, and I carried it into this brand intentionally. To me, it represents love, beauty, devotion, and a connection that lasts long after a moment has passed.
There’s a scene in the very first episode of The Walking Dead that captures why photographs mean so much to me. Rick discovers that his family’s photo albums are missing, and it gives him hope that his wife, Lori, and their son escaped from the walkers. He knows she would have taken those photographs with her. That detail stays with me. Even when everything around us changes, photographs hold the people, the love, and the life we want to remember. They become something we reach for, a way to feel close again.
That’s what I want your photographs to give you.
Years from now, I want you to look through your images and remember your partner’s expression, hear your family’s laughter, and feel the warmth of someone’s hand in yours. I want the people who come after you to glimpse the life and love that came before them.
That meaning shapes the way I photograph. I notice the way your partner looks at you when you turn away, a parent quietly taking everything in, and the laughter after the posed photograph. Those small moments often become the ones you treasure most.
My approach is calm, romantic, and naturally guided. I’ll offer direction when you need it, help you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and give moments room to unfold so your photographs feel honest and unmistakably yours.
From weddings and engagements to growing families and meaningful celebrations, my purpose remains the same: to preserve how your story looked, how it felt, and who was there to share it.
Because one day, these photographs will mean even more than they do now.
